PACKAGING DESIGN
WEBSITE DESIGN

Kevin the founder of Hectares had done an impressive job of getting his sweet potato crisps into Tesco supermarkets, BP petrol stations and small independent shops and cafes across the UK, all within just 2 years of starting the company on a shoestring.

However, the Hectares brand touch points were not aligned and the communication was not clear or concise. The exisiting visual identity and packaging looked like an own label brand you might find in a local supermarket.

Our challenge was to take the Hectares brand to the next level with a new look & feel that was vibrant and bold, whilst still keeping true to its natural, hand-cooked, quality heritage. The brand identity needed a complete change and also needed to also be applicable beyond sweet potato crisps to allow the company to expand into different snack sectors.

A visual identity system inspired by the iconic shape of sweet potatoes and the natural lie of the land.

A unique look & feel with stylised map contours creating patterns of textured stripes using a palette of screenprinted natural colours.

Hand-crafted fonts to help convey the hand-cooked nature of the sweet potato crisps.

The new packaging design was loved by the retailers and featured in the Wholefoods flagship store in London.

This project was created for Hectares by Stu and the team at BTL.
